Very best day with my lttle man!

I had the very best day with my little man yesterday! Nicc left EARLY yesterday morning to go to Riverton for a football game. I was quite nervous about him going, sure that this baby would come while he was gone so I planned to keep myself busy with Davin and my mind off of the fact that Nicc was gone! Davin and I started going to some garage sales. We had a good time, not a whole lot of anything that we found but Davin enjoys going as much as I do. (He tells me that if there is ever anything we need or we got that we need to go to a garage sale or we got it at a garage sale.)
Then we headed to Jackson, yes I was nervous about the baby coming so we skipped town! Our first stop was K-Mart. Davin has been having a hard time sleeping on his toddler bed, he would rather sleep on the floor. He has said that he wants a spiderman bed so Nicc told him if he could sleep in his bed we would get him spiderman sheets for a big, big boy bed. Well, sure enough he slept on his bed one whole night Friday night and woke up Saturday morning to remind me that he needed spiderman sheets (he doesn't forget ANYTHING!). Lucky for me K-Mart had spiderman sheets! After K-Mart we hit McDonalds for lunch and then headed to the swimming pool!
The pool was a blast! We swam for 3 1/2 hours! Up and down the big slide about 15 times was taking its toll on me but we loved it! Davin got brave and tried the big slide by himself once but by the time he got to the bottom he was all over the slide and it wasn't as fun as he hoped. He liked going with mom just as much (good thing because I had fun going with him. I probably would have look pretty funny waddling up there by myself--at least with him I had a reason to be going down as big as I am!). He also discovered the smaller "blue slide" and probably went down that 40 times! He would come down laughing and smiling while I caught him and would without a doubt EVERY TIME say, "Let's do that again!" and I would carry him to the side of the pool where he climbed out and went up the stairs to do it again! He was so funny to watch because I told him to make sure he waited in line. Well, he did, in fact he waited for everyone to go down the slide before he came down, even if they came up after he was up there! One time I lost sight of him and didn't see him come down so he plunged into the water at the end of the slide. I anticipated an ultimate melt down when...nothing came! He just wiped his eyes and said, "Let's do that again!!" After a great time swimming we swung by Wendy's to get a frosty and headed home. He was out as soon as his frosty was gone!
When we got home we put his spiderman sheets on a new big, big boy bed in his room and he was so excited! When everything was in place he came up to me and said, "I just want to cuddle with my mom." So, of course we cuddled up to watch a quick show--spiderman (surprise, surprise!). I told him I had so much fun with him playing and his response was "I really liked swimming with you too mom!" I LOVED IT! It truly was a great day for us. I am so nervous about how I am going to split my time between 2 kids so being able to just have one big fun day with Davin and nothing else to worry about was perfect! When he said his prayers he was thankful that we could go to the swimming pool. I knew then it was a good day for him too!!!

Tent night!

Nicc and Davin decided to pop the tent up in the basement and have a sleepout before school starts! Davin was so excited and kept saying "this is great, neat!" He loved bringing all of the blankets and pillows into the tent! I think this was the most excited I have ever seen him be to go to bed!!!

Blue cookies!

This afternoon Davin and I were out for a walk when out of the blue he requested blue cookies! So, we came home and made blue cookies!!! I love these kind of days when we have nothing to do so blue cookies become the priority!

Spider Man Bike!

Last night we took Davin over to the parking lot at the High School to ride his bike around! I think Nicc and I were so amazed at him we could do nothing but laugh! There was a ramp that he loved to ride up and then he would come down the sidewalk full speed and wind in and out of the pillars! One time he did a complete 180 before barely making it back onto the ramp and successfully off the sidewalk! One time he missed the ramp and went right over the curb--and he didn't fall!!!! Pretty amazing kid! We were pretty sad we didn't think to take the video camera with us! It was much more amazing in person than words!

I can spell my name!

Davin has been able to spell his name verbally for a while and recognizes always the letters in his name but lately he has been quite creative with the placement of the letters. It amazes me that he is able to recognize the letters out of order and know which ones he still needs. This is the third time in about a week I have seen him "spell" his name.

The order he "spelled" his name: N-D-V-A-I

Nap times!

Naps seem to come in the strangest places these days!

Davin was in his room for quiet time. About 5 minutes before I was going to let him come out I heard him coloring on his chalkboard! When I did go get him I found him fast asleep on the floor below the chalkboard! The sleepies must have hit like a ton of bricks!

Nicc and Davin had made a blankie tent one sunday afternoon and then were watching a movie. Next thing I knew they were both sound asleep!

Itsy Bitsy

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.
And the itsy bitsy Davin climbed up the ladder again!

Yes, this is from the mouth of my cute kid! He is just like his daddy and loves to make up his own songs! This was one of the best so far!

More help!!

We had lots of help from Nicc's sister, Amy, and her family last weekend on our house! Clint was able to help Nicc while the Davin was able to play with his cousins--so all in all we were all taken care of. They were able to get almost 3/4 of the house sided! We were even able to squeeze in a little fun! From the look of the pictures you would guess all we did was play, however, I promise you those guys worked like crazy!

How long can you stand in the cold water?

Roasting starbursts!

Yes, even Davin joined in on the nail polish party! His nails are not, nor have they ever been! He just liked to tell us all what color we should use!

Randon and Davin found this great, huge dragon fly!

Painting any and every scrap of wood they could find!

This was Davin's first attempt at roasting his own marshmallow! He did pretty good but it was in flames in about 3 seconds! He started swinging it right away until we convinced him to blow on it to put it out!

Fair week!

We got home just in time to enjoy some of the Lincoln County fair excitement. We started it all with the parade and demolition derby. Davin enjoyed it much more this year, he was cheering the cars on and loved it when they crashed! Last year he was so concerned! He also really enjoyed the motocross and the 4-wheeler race--he cheered especially loud for those hitting the balloons off of the passenger helmets!

Later in the week we hit up the carnival rides and he had a blast. His very favorite was the one you crawl through and then slide down a big slide at the end! A first at the fair was a glow stick! He loved it and slept with it that night. The sad part was when he woke up the next morning he was quite disappointed at it's lack of light (even in the dark bathroom).

He had fun looking at the pigs, chickens, and bunnies too. Until, after a while I think he got bored because he took off and we found him outside the chicken house walking up and down the sidewalk singing, "Bubble gum. Bubble gum. Bubble gum for me!" What a funny kid!

Second Stop: Lovell

The second stop in our reunion road trip was Lovell for a family reunion with ALL of Nicc's family! It was the first time in several years that ALL of Nicc's family has been together at the same time! We had fun and Davin enjoyed lots of time with his cousins--as long as he wasn't too tired!
Davin and Caira had a good time dancing together! They also had a nice little tea party!
It was kind of cool the whole time we were in Lovell so we were not able to make it to the kiddie pool but instead ALL of the kids, big and little went to the public pool. We had a good time and I think the pool was half full of Crosbys!

Davin is cheering for Daddy on the diving board!

We also did the usual and went to slide rock for a weenie roast! Everyone has tons of fun out there--either sliding, climbing, carving, or eating! No matter what it is fun! Funny part was we went out early in the day to avoid the evening storm and it was very hot that day! Almost too hot to stand close to the fire to roast a dog!

Davin and Amanda sliding!

Nicc on fire duty.
Bearing the heat to roast a hot dog!
Davin helping Mommy make her "perfect s'more."
Davin decided to go with Pat and Jeff to go cow tipping! They didn't make it too far before turning back!

You can't really see our names in the picture but all of them are there!

Chillin' back at grandma and grandpa's house!

4-wheeler rides with grandpa!

We also enjoyed a trip to Billings to go shopping for the day and go to the temple, the boys enjoyed a couple mornings of golf, and of course just playing, playing, playing! It was a fun week but we were pooped at the end of it!

Davin crashed on the way home and took extra naps for several days trying to catch up! Fun times!
