Something funny at 2 am!?!?
Last night I was walking around with Kyson (we have had to do this alot lately. His reflux kills him when he eats then falls asleep--about an hour later he just screams). He had just fallen asleep, or was more in a semi-sleep state when he let out a true giggle and got the biggest grin. Then a few minutes later I got another big giggle. Then I got a third one that was a full blown laugh. I wish I knew what was so funny at 2 AM! I saw nothing very funny--I bet he was thinking, look at this sucker that will walk me around until I fall asleep!
Maybe this needs more work!
One day last week we went to get in the car to run some errands and the battery was dead. Immediately Davin said, "We need to say a prayer, Mom." But it didn't end there. A boy who usually asks everyone else to say the prayer immediately began praying the most appropriate prayer (usually his prayers are about anything and everything). He asked that the car would be not broken and that we could run errands. After he was done I tried to start the car again with no success. Davin, just about as if it were a matter of fact said, "Well, that didn't work." I guess we need to talk about the fact that some prayers are not answered immediately.

Davin @ 3
Davin, after lots of bribing yesterday, let me take some pics of him (I am no professional by a long shot. I mainly wanted to capture some of him with the pretty fall colors). We were doing well until this crazy dog showed up with stickies all over its back and tried to jump all over Davin. After calming down we did get a few more. He is at such a hard age to photograph--he can't just smile normal, "cheese" gives him a pretty cheesy grin, and he has a terrible time keeping his eyes on the camera. Hopefully we got a few decent pictures.
Here is a glimpse of Davin at 3:
* He LOVES Spiderman, Batman, and He-Man
* He will sit and color for hours
* He doesn't walk anywhere--he runs, jumps, gallops, leaps, or whatever else
* He eats on his own schedule--some days I can't feed him enough, some days he eats nothing
* Everything he does he does with energy
* He is good but not too good--he can't let us think we have it easy
* He is one mischievous little guy
* He has one heck of an imagination--he can be anyone he wants to be
* He likes to "build"
* He loves to do "I Spy" books
* He could sit and watch TV for hours if we would let him
* He loves being with his friends, and everyone is a friend

Kyson @ 1 month
One month already! It has been a good month and we have overcome a lot of different things with this little guy! I am so in awe that time has flown by as fast as it has, at the same time I am glad that month is over and with it are the several challenges.
Kyson has overcome "sticky" lungs, a slight heart murmur, keeping his oxygen level up, not being able to eat fast enough to keep up, lots of thrush, goopy eyes, and reflux.
Kyson at one month is such a calm baby. He rarely makes more than a peep unless he is hungry, tired, or needs to burp (that is the big one). He will lay on the floor for as long as we leave him just looking around at whatever he can find. He is so tolerant of his big brother who does everything from jumping over him, tickles his face hoping to make him laugh, to wanting him close. Kyson can hold his head up quite well (he has been able to do this almost from birth). He loves to just look around--at everything and he loves to lay in the tub! He looks just like Davin did (I wonder how long that will last).
At his one month check up Kyson weighed 10 pounds 8 oz., was 22 1/2 inches long and has a head circumference of 14 3/4 inches! He is definitely growing!
We are so glad to have been given such a sweet spirit to add to our family and look forward to getting to know him and his personality more as he grows and develops!
Bowling!
We actually had a day off--the first in a LONG time--so we took Dav to the new bowling alley in town. It was a lot of fun. Davin had a good time playing on all of the arcade toys while we were waiting for a lane (I wonder how long we have until he realizes he needs money to really play). He had a lot of fun bowling considering he was getting over his spell with the stomach flu. He did really good for about 7 frames and then was more interested in the pizza than bowling. I was glad to score only 2 points less than Nicc! Kyson just chilled the entire time!

Go Braves!
We braved the cold (OK, not super cold) and went to cheer on the Braves Friday night. It was great, Kyson just slept the whole time and Davin had a blast playing with all of his friends. I was able to watch the whole game--way more than I ever expected to watch with 2 kids! The braves beat Lander 10-7 in double overtime! It was so exciting and we had a great time! Now, if we can just keep the weather decent and the Braves pumped up for one more week!

First "Real" Bath
Davin has been wanting Kyson to take a bath with him for some time now. We finally put Kyson in the tub with Davin and it was great! Kyson LOVES the tub. As long as it was warm he just laid there. Davin was a little worried when Kyson started peeing in the tub so we had to reassure him that he is just a baby and doesn't know how to go potty. So much fun to be able to give the boys "real baths" now!

Is he really 3!
Yes, he is, despite the fact that in my mind he should be the same size as Kyson. He has reminded me that, "yes, I'm 3!" I can not believe how fast the years have gone by and how much Davin has grown and the things he has learned! As much as I can't believe that he is 3 and I get frustrated with him at times I am so proud of the little (big) boy he has become! Happy Birthday Buddy!
Davin and I started the morning off with waffles with sprinkles and a candle of course--accompanied by Mommy singing Happy Birthday!

We then ran some errands and went to get his birthday balloons! Every year I buy him some balloons and this year he helped me pick them out. I think I could have bypassed everything else and just got a few more balloons!
We met Daddy at Subway for lunch and Davin got to open one of his presents. We got there early to order and then waited for Nicc. Davin started screaming when Nicc finally walked in, "I have a present, can I open it now!" He got a spiderman costume and could hardly wait until we got home to put it on!

Spiderman is a favorite at our house so quickly became the theme to Davin's party! He had several friends over and we had lots of spiderman fun! Davin was sure to have his costume on as well! We started with pin the spider on the web, spider chase, spiderman web walk (aka cake walk) for spiderman prizes, a spiderman cake chosen by Davin and designed by mom, presents, playing outside, and creating marshmallow spiders! All in all it was a lot of fun and Davin crashed as soon as all of his friends left!

The cake! I spent all night the night before making this cake. I know it doesn't look very ornate but it took me forever. I had chosen a one layer cake decorated as Spiderman's face and Davin saw this and insisted on the building. He liked it so I guess it was worth it!

We had macaroni and cheese for dinner--Davin's birthday dinner of choice. We opened presents when Daddy got home and Daddy sang Happy Birthday to Davin! We didn't have any cake that evening because we were all starting to come down with a hint of the stomach flu.

It was a pretty fun birthday as far as I could tell! I still can't believe that Davin is 3 but I will go with the flow and accept his declarations that he is. I love you Dav, Happy Birthday!
