I don't think Davin thought this day could come soon enough! He has been playing for months that he is going to school. He would fill his backpack with anything and everything he could find then say, "Bye, Mom! I am going to school. Have a good day." When I learned my friend was opening her pre-school in January I was so excited (technically he was not old enough to start this last fall anywhere else). She was willing to take him and he was so excited. He told everyone we say over the holidays about school. Tuesday night he was in bed when Nicc got home and as soon as he heard Nicc walk in he shouted "Dad, I am going to preschool!" Then, Wednesday morning he woke up and said, "OK, Mom, is it time to go to pre-school yet?" From 7 til 9:30 was the longest 2 1/2 hours of his life I think!! He went and didn't even ever look back--Mr. Independent! I thought I would be more sad but he was so excited I couldn't help but be excited with him! He came home and when asked what he did gave his typical answer, "I don't know." but with some prodding he told us about p is for pig, playing blocks, and penguins and polar bears!! We are so proud of you Davin! We hope you always are as excited about school as you were today!!!

Pre-school!!!!!

Why moms should definitely NOT be sick
I have the most miserable cold or whatever it is that I think I have ever had. It has just gotten progressively worse for the last 5-6 days. I talked to a friend this morning that suggested it might be the flu. I always thought the flu was more stomach and mine is all in my head--stuffy, sinus ache, sore throat, the worst cough ever, headache, and body ache and I even got a flu shot this year. Well, after a horrible night last night and a husband that took very good care of me and the boys, I decided that I just can't do that again so am headed to the doctor this afternoon. My biggest concern is for Kyson. We were warned when he was born that his lungs are not in any condition to withstand the flu or swine flu (which is why we got the shots). He is starting to cough and be hoarse when he cries (that is the worst sound ever) and he has just slept all day.
Anyway, I just could think of ton of reasons why Moms should definitely NOT be sick, here are a few:
* Who will make breakfast, lunch, and dinner
* The TV really does become a babysitter
* A house can fall apart in just a few minutes
* All of the blankets become mine, not the kids--Davin is putting up a fight
* Fruit snacks have fruit in them right--eat away Dav
* Grocery sacks become toys--haven't we been told they shouldn't be
* I hate the thought that I made my baby sick!!!
I bet there are a lot more but I am kind of out of it at the moment! I hope you all stay healthy--this stuff stinks!!!!

Santa Claus
Davin has been begging to see Santa Claus. We had to run to Idaho Falls yesterday to grab a few things so I told him if he was good we would go see Santa. He was so excited the whole way there (despite the fact that he didn't feel great) and talked about it nonstop. Finally we made it to the mall and Davin spotted the Jolly Man himself. He ran right up to line and I had to hold him back from running right up in front of a few other people. Finally he made it to Santa's lap and asked for a batman racecar track--at least he is consistent in what he asks for. He told Santa he has been a good boy and a good big brother. Kyson even joined the fun, although, he couldn't have cared much less about Santa. Hopefully Davin could tell Santa that Kyson has been a good boy too and what he wants for Christmas! Merry Christmas!
O Christmas Tree!
I love this time of year and although Davin and I put all of our decorations up the Monday after Thanksgiving it did not seem complete until we went and got our tree. Again, we headed up Grover Park to see what we could find! We had to do a little more walking this year to find a tree. Davin kept telling us the whole way there that he wanted a fat tree but as we started walking around he found this skinny one he wanted and from there on out he kept wanting a skinny one. Well, we came back to the original skinny tree that Davin had found and are perfectly pleased with our skinny tree. It was SOOO COLD the afternoon we were out getting our tree yet because we had to walk so far from the highway I didn't dare leave Kyson in the car, so he joined us. Nicc tried to keep his face buried up against his chest to keep him warm but Kyson wouldn't have it. He is so nosey, he had to see what was going on.
Davin just woke up from a nap and was not excited at first--it didn't take him long!

When we got home we got the tree in and started decorating it. Davin loved hanging the ornaments on the tree and would want all of them on the same branch. Most of our ornaments are on the bottom 1/3 of the tree that Davin could reach but I like it that way! Davin is so excited about everything Christmas this year so it was so fun to have him help decorate the tree. Kyson just hung out in the bumbo for a while but flashed us a smile every now and again to assure us we were doing a good job!

Since we watched the Grinch Monday night we just popped some popcorn after we finished the tree and ate up. Davin has designated himself light-turner-onner at our house too, only he needs some help here. Davin loves opening the advent calendar every morning to see what it says and he especially loves to eat his one piece of candy every day. Some days I have to remind him not to eat the others or he will have none on those days.
The other day Davin and I were reading one of my favorite Christmas books, "Dear Santa" and Davin learned about writing a letter to Santa. He left it by the fireplace so Santa's elf could pick it up and take it to Santa. The next morning there was a letter from Santa in return. Is there really anything better than the excitement of a child at Christmastime?

Visiting Family, Take 2
We spent Thanksgiving in Salt Lake at Nicc's brother, Todd's, house. WE had a lot of fun and Davin enjoyed playing with all of his cousins. Everyone took in Kyson and it was a battle with Uncle Curtis for Kyson holding time!!! Todd made an amazing Thanksgiving dinner and we all ate until we were stuffed. Before dinner we all went around and stated what we were Thankful for. Davin told us that he was thankful for thanksgiving! I guess that means he is thankful in general! We spent the weekend just sitting and visiting. We hit a few stores Friday, later in the morning, still fun though! We went to Beyonce's baptism Friday night and then Sunday morning we all sang one of Todd's songs in church. Davin told us that he didn't sing, he just smiled! Like I said, our weekend was full of food, family, cousins, play, football and lots of fun!! My sisters-in-law and I were not too good at the Black Friday sales, we get spoiled in Cody where there are so few people.

This was the first time Nicc's Dad had seen Kyson.

Davin was learning all sorts of breakdance moves from Zachary--they were center stage!

Davin crashed HARD every night!
Nicc and Todd crashed after Thanksgiving dinner--we thought they were watching the football game downstairs until neither of them ever came back up!!!
Uncle Curtis sleeping with Kyson.
Grandma and Kyson playing together!
This was the first time Nicc's Dad had seen Kyson.
Kyson's blessing
We were able to bless Kyson at my parents house the Wednesday before Thanksgiving when Nicc's family was on their way to SLC for Thanksgiving. We were sad that we weren't able to have more of Nicc's siblings there and my grandparents, but it was a beautiful blessing. Nicc, Uncle Clint, and Grandpa Crosby stood in the circle and Nicc gave Kyson an amazing blessing. I know that Kyson was sent to earth for a glorious purpose and despite his hardships in the beginning he will grow strong and be a wonderful tool for our Heavenly Father on Earth. Davin sang the opening song for us, I am a Child of God and ABC's, he did a great job. Then we all enjoyed some snacks before heading to Salt Lake. It was perfect! We are so blessed to have Kyson as a part of our family!!!
Visiting Family, Take 1
The boys and I spent the 3 days before thanksgiving in Rock Springs. My brothers were both home for Thanksgiving and since we would be with Nicc's family for the holiday we wanted to be able to spend a little bit of time with the Sheckler Uncles. We had a lot of fun. This was the first time both Uncle Brian and Uncle Chris met Davin. Uncle Brian and Uncle Chris played with Davin and Kyson most of the days. I was able to leave them and get almost all of my Christmas shopping done and they were ok, aside from the one incident when Brian had to wipe Davin's bum after he went to the bathroom! We were able to decorate Grandma and Grandpa's tree, go to the mall and ride the little train, go to lunch, go swimming, and just play.
